Lena I. Coble
Lena I. Coble, 86, of Wabash, Ind., passed away at 2:05 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at her home.
She was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Laketon, Ind., to Henry and Mable (Sickafus) Reiken. She married Carroll Coble in Laketon, on Oct. 5, 1942; he preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker, secretary for the Wabash County Drainage Department and also worked at Wabash Magnetics and General Tire. She attended the New Life Baptist Church and was a former member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and made quilts for her grandchildren and afghans for her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four children: Carolyn (Roger) Grandstaff, Fairfield, Penn.; Harvey (Brenda) Coble, Kathy Barker-Rowe and David (Colleen) Coble, all of Wabash; brother: James (Jacksie) Reiken, Mentone, Ind.; five sisters: Joan Meredith, Pierceton, Ind.; Rose Marie Bell, Warsaw, Ind.; Ruth Ann Calhoun, North Manchester, Ind.; Carol Jean Coleman, Peoria, Ill.; and Suzie (Walter) Brown, Roanoke, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and a brother.
Visitation was from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
