TinkeyMarjorie Irene Vollmer Tinkey, 91 of Warsaw, Ind., fell asleep in the arms of Jesus at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

On May 30, 1922, she was born in Bremen, Ind., to Urban and Cleo (Schultz) Vollmer. She was united in marriage to Forrest Maxwell Tinkey on Sept. 23, 1951. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1993.

Prior to her marriage, she worked for Litchfield Creamery in Warsaw. She was co-owner and office manager of Tinkey Oil Company for over 30 years.

Marjorie enjoyed knitting, gardening, yard work, watching basketball and spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren and her church family. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Warsaw, and was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her sons: James (Linda) Tinkey, Warsaw; and David (Paula) Tinkey, Brownsburg, Ind.; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Tinkey, Okawville, Ill.; Jennifer Tinkey, Napoleon, Ohio; Jamielynn Tinkey, Warsaw; Daniel Tinkey, Brownsburg; and Spencer Tinkey, Brownsburg; one brother: Maynard Vollmer, Leesburg, Ind.; and five brothers and sisters-in-law: William Tinkey, Warsaw; Jerry and Sandra Tinkey, Warsaw; and Beverly and Andy Hoffer, Warsaw.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband and her brother: Louis Dale Vollmer.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at McHatton-Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, with Pastor Roger Rohde officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
