Tag L. Hunter, 50, of Leesburg, Ind., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1963, in Bremen, Ind., to Frederick L. and Joan A. (Porman) Hunter.
He grew up in North Webster, Ind., attended Wawasee High School in Syracuse, Ind., and lived in Ohio 17 years before returning to the Leesburg / North Webster area.
He retired as owner / operator of Hunter Home Improvement in Ohio and Indiana and formerly worked for his father at Hunter Roofing in Leesburg and Bourbon, Ind.
He formerly attended the Pentecostal Church in Syracuse. He was North Webster’s 1970 Mermaid Festival Cutie King and loved to collect eagle memorabilia.
He is survived by a daughter: Indika Marie Hunter, St. Mary’s, Ohio; two sons: Courtney (Pam Carlin) Knisley, Milford, Ind.; and Isaac Levi Hunter, Wapakoneta, Ohio; two grandchildren: Hunter and Hayden Knisley; his companion: Carla J. (Leamons) Kelley, Leesburg; his father: Fred Hunter, Columbia City, Ind.; and three brothers: Rocky Lane (Danette) Hunter, San Antonio, Texas; Shad Lynn (Crystal) Hunter, Columbia City; and Lofty Lee (Karen Kokovay) Hunter, New Paris, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 North, North Webster. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
