Lois Baker #2Lois L. Baker, 84, of Bourbon, Ind., passed away at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.

Lois was born the daughter of Lloyd and Edna Ewing Ritchison on May 31, 1929, at Milford, Ind. She was a resident of the area all her life, was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Lois worked in the restaurant business her entire life. She owned her own restaurant in Bourbon – The Four D’s Truck stop. She was also a nursery school teacher in the 1960’s in her own home. She organized many fundraisers and took people to doctor’s appointments and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Lois was a member of many community organizations which include: Triton Kiwanis Club, Bourbon American Legion Auxiliary of Post #424, and Moose Lodge #741 of Plymouth, Ind.

On Aug. 9, 1985, she married Herbert G. Baker, who died Feb. 19, 2012.

She is survived by her four daughters: Debbie (Lonnie) Witham, Warsaw, Ind.; Dena (Larry) Wattenbarger, Dava (Mark) Barton and Dara (Greg ) Greenawalt, all of Bourbon; three step children: Candace (Greg) Craft, Kimberly (Kris) Berger, all of Bourbon; and Stacy (Mike) Sheetz, Plymouth; her grandchildren: Lisa Scott, Leslie Witham, Braxton Barton, Erica Haag, Alison Sawyer, Morgan McClarnon and Cory McClarnon; step grandchildren: Matthew Craft, Jennifer Potter, Tyler Berger, Samantha, Jordan and McKenzie Sheetz; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother: Carl (Marilyn) Ritchison, Warsaw; a brother-in-law: Robert Baker, Washington C.H., Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter: Dawn Francis; a great-grandson, Kyle Pugh; a sister: Rachel Baker; and a brother: Duane Ritchison.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, in Bourbon First United Methodist Church, 204 N. Washington St., Bourbon. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Reverends Stormy Scherer-Berry of Bourbon First United Methodist Church and Mark Cottrill of Bourbon United Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon.
