Robert C. Smith, 85, of Davie, Fla., and formerly of Mentone, Ind., passed away at 8:36 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Vitas Hospice North Shore Medical Center, Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.

He was born May 28, 1928, in Kosciusko County, Ind., to Max M. and Winifred (Tucker) Smith. On Oct. 21, 1950, in Mentone, Ind., he married Barbara J. Cooper, who survives.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara Smith, Davie, Fla.; a daughter: Sara Jo (Sal) Murria, Davie, Fla.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at the funeral home and officiated by Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone with graveside military rites being performed by the American Legion and VFW of Warsaw, Ind.
