Willis E. Berkey, 87, of Bourbon passed away February 14, 2014 at St Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. He was born April 22, 1926 to Harry and Bertha (Schrock) Berkey. He married Sara Harris on Aug 11, 2006; she survives. Willis was preceded in death by his second wife Marie Berkey on June 17, 2004.

Willis was a compassionate and thoughtful person, always willing to lend a hand. He was a people person with a quick wit and enjoyed socializing. He loved being outside, whether it was fishing, gardening or just spending time at the cabin in Michigan. He could be found at many local auctions and yard sales looking for his next treasure to add to his antique collection. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.

Willis is survived by three sons, Steven Berkey of Elkhart, Royce Berkey of Coeur-d-Alene, ID, Kurt (Tricia) Brandon of Bourbon, a daughter, Debbie Shoemaker of Leesburg, IN and 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, second wife, Marie and a brother, Dean.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
