Lorraine B. Brownell, 83, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, in Warsaw Meadows Healthcare Center, Warsaw.
On July 21, 1930, she was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Arthur and Anna (Aahrens) Andrew. She was united in marriage to Richard Brownell on Sept. 25, 1966, in Virginia. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2011.
Lorraine attended college in Brooklyn, where she received her Associate Degree in nursing. She moved to Kosciusko County in 1975, where she was a homemaker and bred and groomed championship dogs, mainly Shepherds and Wheaton Terriers. She also enjoyed going to dog shows. Lorraine was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw.
She is survived by two sons: Craig Thomas (Tonna) Metcalf and Gary John (Susan) Metcalf, Melbourne, Fla.; one niece: Judy Andrew, Spencer, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her son: Mark Allen Metcalf; and her brother and sister-in-law: Bob and Penny Andrew.
There will be a private funeral service and visitation at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, and Pastor Denny Bollenbacher will officiate the service.
