Brenda (Close) Mell, 64, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at the Hospice House after an illness.

She was born June 6, 1949, in South Bend, Ind., to Clayton and Dolores Close. She is survived by her two daughters: Lisa (Kyle) Kaczmarek, Osceola, Ind.; and Shellie (Jason) Huffer, Granger, Ind.; six grandchildren: Kailey and Korey Kaczmarek, Stephanie and Travis Kedik, Tiara Bucher and Shelby Huffer; one great-grandson: Brayden Marek; her father: Clayton Close, South Bend; one brother: Mike (Debbie) Close, North Liberty, Ind.; and one sister: Doris (Dennis) Meixel. Mishawaka.

She was preceded by her daughter: Tammy Mell; and her mother.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at St. Pius Catholic Church, Granger. A memorial Mass will follow at 10 a.m.
