HaroldBrown-1Harold Russell Brown, 77, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in his residence.

He was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Warsaw, Ind., to Harold V. and Doris L. (Wilson) Brown. He was united in marriage to Harriet Davis in Warsaw on Feb. 4, 1956. He entered service with the Warsaw Fire Department on Oct. 1, 1962, and retired at the rank of Captain on Dec. 31, 1983, after having held various positions within the fire service.

His hobbies included his love of restoring classic cars, coaching Little League Baseball for the Warsaw Little League at Boggs Field, coaching soccer at the City-County Athletic Complex in Warsaw and spending time with grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Harriet Brown, Winona Lake; children: Sarita (Rex) Burnett, McKinney, Texas; Russell (Jackie) Brown, Pierceton, Ind.; Alicia “Lisa” Eckert, Mentone, Ind.; and Christine Brown, Warsaw; grandchildren: Brandt Cox, Brook Moore, Kirk Burnett, Kyle Burnett, J.R. Watters, Erik Watters, Nicholas Boardman and Keegan Brown; and great-grandchildren: Darren, Alivia and Zander Cox.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. No further public services are planned.
