Carol E. (Kay) Lemler, 92, of Bourbon, Ind., passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, in her home.
Carol was born June 15, 1921, to Ezra and Helen (Craig) Geib at Bourbon. She married Joe Lemler on Aug. 16, 1946; he died Jan. 17, 1974.

Carol was a graduate of Bourbon High School, class of 1939, and a graduate of Michiana College of Commerce at South Bend, Ind. She worked as a secretary during World War II at Kingsbury Ordinance Plant. After the war, Carol married her childhood sweetheart Joe and then worked as a secretary in Lafayette, Ind., where he attended Purdue University. She first worked as a clerk at the Marshall County Clerk’s office then at Orthopedic Equipment Company of Bourbon in the office until her retirement.

Carol is survived by four children: Donna (Steve) Feldman, Bourbon; Susan Houin, Plymouth, Ind.; Nancy Bricker, Union, Mich.; and Michael (Carolyn) Lemler, Fruitport, Mich.; four grandchildren: Brian (Marci) Feldman, Bourbon; Mark (Amanda) Feldman, Plymouth, Ind.; Casie (Bryan) Hood, Panama City, Fla.; and Kirk Bricker, Union, Mich.; and three great-grandchildren: Hayden and Hanley Feldman and Bricksten Hood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Kristine Duff; a son-in-law: Earl Houin; and her sister: Lois Bray.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 31, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon. A celebration of Carol’s life will follow at noon in the funeral home with Pastor David Gould of the Country Church officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon.
