Idabel Margaret Goodrich, 89, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 1:03 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake.
On May 13, 1924, she was born in Mishawaka, Ind., to Ernest and Lillian (Hunt) Lovett. In 1942, she graduated from Mishawaka High School where she enjoyed bookkeeping and commercial classes.
On Sept. 5, 1942, Idabel married Fay Leroy Goodrich in Gulfport, Miss. He preceded her in death in January 1993.
Idabel did bookkeeping for the family business, Lovett Tool and Die. Following that, she worked at Burnsteins in Elkhart, Ind., as an office manager. She retired after 25 years. She enjoyed her job abd her fellow workers.
Idabel and Fay spent their working days between Mishawaka and summer weekends at Tippecanoe Lake. In their retirement years and after the passing of Fay, time was divided between the lake and Florida. Idabel loved people, bingo, dancing and being active.
She is survived by a daughter: Marilyn (Will) Shroyer, Leesburg, Ind., and Bonita Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren: Barton (Bonnie) Shroyer, Zionsville, Ind.; Stephanie Shroyer (Todd) Sriver, Bristow, Va.; and Michael (companion Becky Bremer) Zorn, Leesburg; five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kayla and Justin Sriver and Abby and Katie Shroyer; a sister: Vivian (Robert) Scott, Loma Linda, Calif.; a sister-in-law: Emy Lovett, Osceola, Ind.; and two brothers-in-law: Kenneth and Gerald Goodrich; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Judith Ann Zorn; and a brother: Robert Lovett.
Funeral services will be private at a later date.
