Glenda Smith, 89, formerly of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Oct. 2, 2013, in Cleveland, S.C.

She was born on March 13, 1924, in Bath County, Ky., to Lewis and Clemie (Alfrey) Branham. On Feb. 26, 1941, she married Grover Smith who preceded her in death.

She was formerly employed by Wawasee Boat Company.  She was a member of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.

Glenda is survived by her two sons: Grover ‘Frank’ Smith Jr., Pickens, S.C.; and Gary Thomas, Archebold, Ohio; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home. Pastor Brad Cox will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Salem cemetery in Topeka, Ind.
