Weirick, BarbaraBarbara J. Weirick, 88, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Victor and Mary E. (Lichtenwalter) Hudson.

She was a 1943 graduate of Warsaw High School. On June 18, 1946, she married Max Weirick.

Barbara was a legal secretary for Rockhill, Kennedy and Pinnick law offices in Warsaw. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church (Warsaw), American Legion Auxiliary, Moose Auxiliary and Lambda Chi Omega. She loved to play cards; loved her friends and family – especially her grandchildren; at 8 weeks old Barb was voted Battle Creek’s Prize Baby at the Calhoun County Fair in Marshall because she was the most perfect baby under one year of age.

She is survived by a daughter: Elaine Tripp, Warsaw; two grandsons: Steven “Sean” Tripp, Leesburg, Ind.; and C. Gavin Tripp, Warsaw, Ind.; a granddaughter: Jennifer Lichtenberger, Warsaw; three great-grandchildren: Sara Nicole Tripp, Janelle Hall and Nicolas Hall, all of Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Max Weirick; a daughter: Bonnie Lichtenberger; a son: Max M. Weirick; and a sister: Tommie West.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 3, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A memorial service will follow at noon Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor David Hummel, Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
