Karen Head Shot 2Karen Sue Ogden, 46, of Warsaw, Ind., and formerly of Rushville, Ind., passed away at 5:02 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in her home.

On Dec. 3, 1967, she was born in Indianapolis, Ind., to Roy and Roxie (Earnest) Edwards. She was united in marriage to John Ogden on June 13, 1992, in Rushville, who survives.

Living most of her life in Rushville, she moved to Warsaw in 2001. She worked for Check Into Cash, Warsaw, and then Zimmer Inc., Warsaw. Karen was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw.

Karen was very much involved in her children’s activities and was a member of the PTO. She was an avid sports fan, especially football, watching every Sunday and Monday. She was a strong witness of her faith, even sharing her faith with her caregivers while they provided care for her. She was also known as “Mama Ogden” to many of the children who were in her life.

She is survived by her husband: John Ogden, Warsaw; her daughter: Kearston Ogden, Warsaw; her son: Colin Ogden, Warsaw; her mother: Roxie Waggoner, Warsaw; her sister: Sharon Edwards, Warsaw; and several step brothers and step sisters and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father; her step father: Ron Waggoner: her brother, Scott Edwards; and a niece.

Vistation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at the funeral home with Tom Newhouse officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
