FORT WAYNE – Science Central and the McMillen Center for Health Education have partnered to assist homeschool students with supplemental educational opportunities for the 2013-14 school year.

“Science Central has presented ‘Afternoon Science’ for home school students for many years,” said Martin S. Fisher, executive director of the popular science center. “These programs have been very well received by the homeschool community, providing demonstrations and hands-on labs to enhance science education for homeschool students of all ages. McMillen Health Center also provides supplemental educational opportunities related to health topics, and it made sense to work together to give homeschoolers a full day of learning enhancement opportunities.”

McMillen will offer “Morning Health” classes on the same days that Science Central offers “Afternoon Science.” The first joint day of classes is Tuesday, Oct. 8.

“The McMillen Center for Health Education is very supportive of homeschooling families, and we are happy to be an additional resource for these families,” said Holli Seabury, CEO. “Topics like distracted driving and cyber bullying address issues where parents often feel like additional resources can be helpful.”

Pre-registration is required at www.mcmillencenter.org. Costs for the programs are $4 per child.
