Don Arthur Bish, 84, of Wawaka, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 26, 1929, to Clyde and Vivian (Fought) Bish in Topeka, Ind. On Aug. 4, 1956, he married Mary Ellizabeth Tredway, she survives.
He graduated from Wawaka High School in 1947 as Valedictorian of his class. He had worked as a dispatcher and truck driver at Frick Services in Wawaka. He attended Wawaka Church of the Brethren.
He enjoyed mowing grass and worked for the Elkhart Township taking care of the cemeteries and ball diamonds. Mr. Bish enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Bish, Wawaka; four children: Pamela Whitford, Houston Texas; Michael Bish, Goshen, Ind.; Donald Bish, Brimfield, Ind.; Cindy McGill, Albion, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother: Robert Bish, Wawaka; and a sister: Frances Myers, Albion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: George Bish of Syracuse; a sister: Elizabeth from LaGrange; and a grandson: Andrew Michael.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center at a later date.
