images-7The Warsaw junior varsity boys tennis team took second place Saturday in the Northern Lakes Conference Tournament.

The Tigers tallied 19 points in the eight-team event played at WCHS.

NorthWood scored 23 points to claim the team title of the league tournament.

Warsaw was runner-up with 19 points, followed by Plymouth (17), Goshen (13), Northridge (9), Concord (6), Wawasee (5) and Elkhart Memorial (3).

Warsaw hosts Concord Monday in its final NLC match of the season at 5 p.m. at WCHS. The Tigers’ varsity will be looking to clinch an undefeated conference season for the second straight year. The varsity NLC Tournament is then slated for Wednesday and Thursday at Plymouth with the finals on Saturday at Goshen.

JV Football Team Falls To Raiders

The Warsaw junior varsity football team lost 21-7 at Northridge on Saturday.

Ross Armey rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown to lead Warsaw.

Quarterback Ben Linky was 9-13 passing for 101 yards for the Tigers. Zach Webb had 74 yards receiving for the Tigers.

Landon Perry had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery to lead the defense. Mario Flores had eight tackles and an interception and Jack Higgins made six stops.

Warsaw, now 3-2, hosts Goshen Saturday at 10 a.m.
