photoClifford D. Stevenson, 84, of Bourbon, Ind., and formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 5:37 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka.

Cliff was born Jan. 12, 1929, to Roy B. and Clara (Howdershelt) Stevenson at Rosemont, W.V. He had been a resident of Bourbon since 2005 moving here from Mishawaka. He and Betty were faithful members of The Country Church, Bourbon.

Cliff was retired from Uniroyal of Mishawaka as a stationary engineer. In his spare time he loved coon hunting, playing horseshoes and he played the fiddle for square dancing events. Anything that involved family and friends you would find Cliff there. “His smile was beautiful” and will be greatly missed by all.

Cliff married Anna Louise Schooley on Sept. 24, 1949; she died in March 23, 2005. He then married Betty (Metheny) Dodson on Nov. 5, 2005, she survives.

Cliff is survived by his wife: Betty; his children: Linda S. (Mrs. Pastor Michael) Jenkins, Granger, Ind., Michael W. (Jacqueline D.) Stevenson, South Bend, Ind.; Sharon L. (Mrs. Gary) Welborn, Bourbon; Mark A, (Deborah) Stevenson, Granger; David E. (Jeanne) Stevenson, Merrillville, Ind.; Matt B. (Jeanette) Stevenson, Mishawaka; Melita (Mrs. Rick) Hegadus, Green Valley, Ariz.; and Keena (Mrs. Alan) Savill, Bourbon; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Dolly Harrison, Elwood, Ind.; and his brother: Kenneth Stevenson, Virginia; and a nephew: Roy “Sonny” (Donna) Wotring, Mishawaka.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Anna; a sister: Geraldine Gable; and brother: Glen Stevenson.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, in The Country Church, SR 331 North, Bourbon. A celebration of Cliff’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the church with Pastor Dave Gould and Pastor Michael Jenkins officiating.
