John William Yeater, 78, of Chandler, Ariz., passed July 10, 2013, following a long battle with cancer.

He was born Feb. 20, 1935, in New Paris, Ind., to Waldo Emerson and Nellie Viola (Ebeling) Yeater. On Sept. 8, 1956, he married Patricia Elaine Slabaugh.

He resided in Milford, Ind., from 1935-1964; in Nappanee, Ind., from 1964-1987; and then moved to Chandler. He was a custom kitchen designer and a member of Central Christian Church, Mesa, Ariz.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter: Lori Lynn Yeater, Superior, Colo.; sons: Larry Lee (Becky) Yeater, Elkhart, Ind.; Michael Jon Yeater, New York, N.Y.; and a brother: Harold Oman Yeater, Mesa.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Wawasee Community Bible Church, Milford. The service will be followed by a luncheon and fellowship until 2 p.m.
