Warrior Golfers Keep Rolling
SYRACUSE – Another triangular, another two wins for the Wawasee girls golf team. Heading to the “road course” Wednesday night at South Shore Golf Club on the south end of Syracuse, the Lady Warriors shot a 191 to beat host West Noble’s 211 and Whitko’s 216.
Mikala Mawhorter continued to lead Wawasee with another medalist round, shooting 43 while Elizabeth Jackson was one shot back at 44. Aubrey Schmeltz shot a 56 and two JV girls moved up, with both Megan Goralczyk and Madison Beaman both adding to the score column with 52s.
Whitko was pretty balanced in its scoring, using a 51 from April Bishop, 52 by Claire Reiff, 53 from Elizabeth Gensch and 60 from Kennedy Krull.
Haley Teel paced West Noble with a 49, followed by a 50 from Rachel Stohlman, 51 from Paige Shearer and 61 by Bailey Kruger.
All three schools will be in action Thursday, with Wawasee (15-3) heading to Fremont in its final regular season match. West Noble and Whitko will meet again, adding Northridge in a triangular to be played again at South Shore.
