MARION, Ind. – Senior Trey Stoll continued last year’s All-American form by taking medalist honors at the season-opening IWU Invitational.

The Lancers, who finished in eighth at the Meshingomeshia Country Club, improved their scores dramatically from Monday to Tuesday. Grace battled 90-degree temperatures and gusting winds to drop 17 strokes as a team on the second day of competition.

Stoll followed up a first-round 74 with a 71 on Tuesday, winning the individual title by two strokes over his nearest competitor.

Taylor Fanning had a remarkable turnaround by carding an 85-73 to finish with Grace’s second-best score.

Caleb Rovenstine (165) and Kal Denlinger (169) rounded out Grace’s scoring line, and Kyle Condon also finished at 179.

The Lancers will have their second tournament of the week on Friday and Saturday at the Bethel Invitational held at Blackthorn Golf Club.
