image001 copyDorothy L. Kesler, 92, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Mason Health Care of Warsaw.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1921, in Forest Park, Ill., to William J. Toerpe and LaVine (Ardueser) Toerpe. On Feb. 17, 1960, in Mexico, Ind., she was married to Gerald R. Kesler, who preceded her in death.

Dorothy attended chapel services at Mason Health Care in Warsaw. She retired in 1983 after working for United Telephone Company for 23 years. She was president of the Friends of Akron Library in Akron, Ind.

She will be lovingly remembered by her seven daughters: Bonnie Porter, Laporte, Ind.; Carol Nahrwold, Las Vegas, Nev.; Laura (Tom) Bergman, Olympia, Wash.; Kimberly R. (Pastor Woodrow ‘Woody’) Burchett, Warsaw; Sharon (Jim) Justice, Mentone, Ind.; Karen (Ronald) Scott, Tippecanoe, Ind.; Linda (Donald) Scott, Burket, Ind.; one son: Gerald (Margie) Kesler Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.; one grandson: Jeremy Burchett, Warsaw; sister: Jean Robinson, Arlington Heights, Ill.; and her brother: William Toerpe, Jr., Winfield, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. Funeral services will be conducted on at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home of Warsaw and will be officiated by Pastor Woodrow Burchett. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240 and would be appreciated by her family.
