An air ambulance was called to stand by when paramedics responded to 439 S. Village St., Pierceton, where a female allegedly committed suicide by means of hanging.

The incident happened at Pierceton Village apartments shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. The initial 911 call asked for help from Multi-Township EMS to assist the victim. CPR was in progress and Samaritan air ambulance was immediately called.

At about 1 a.m., the helicopter was disregarded and efforts to revive the victim were terminated. Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson was then called to the scene.
