Laura Slabaugh, 73, of Etna Green, Ind., passed away at 6:12 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, surrounded by her family at her residence. She had battled cancer for three years.
Laura was born to the late Emery E. and Fanny (Chupp) Miller on July 25, 1940, in Marshall County. She married John H. Slabaugh Dec. 1, 1960, in Etna Green. Laura lived her lifetime in this area and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by her husband; sons: Marlin (Arlene) Slabaugh, Etna Green; Norman (Mary Esther) Slabaugh, Etna Green; daughters: Regina Kay (Dennis E.) Schmucker, Etna Green; Janita Lynn Slabaugh, Etna Green; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Marvin (Elizabeth) Miller, Nappanee, Ind.; Herman (Ada) Miller, Bourbon; Earl (Edna) Miller, Bourbon; sisters: Lydia (Eldon) Stutzman, Warsaw, Ind.; Alma Miller, Nappanee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Raymond, Edward, Emery Jr. Miller; and sisters: Mary Ellen Kuhns, Wilma Yoder, Erma Miller.
Visitation will take place after 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23 and all day Tuesday at the family residence. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 25, at the Devon Schwartz residence located at 8099 North 800 West, Nappanee. Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will be in Graber cemetery.
