Robert L. Lackey, 56, of Mentone, Ind., and formerly of Retired Tigers, Warsaw Ind., passed away at 6:49 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.

Robert was born June 5, 1957, in Bremen, Ind., to Richard Lackey and Diana Hawley Lackey. He was a graduate of Warsaw High School class of 1976.

Robert was an auto mechanic for Midas Muffler of Warsaw and L. & L. Body Shop and enjoyed working on cars. He was also a big NASCAR fan, loved fishing, camping and was an avid Star Trek fan.

He is survived by his mother; a son: Robert R. Lackey, Mentone; step-daughter: Tiffany Harris, Warsaw; two sisters; Catherine (David) Rapp, Warsaw; Dawn (Roger) Ransbottom, Warsaw; his brother: Brad (Angel) Hamilton, Warsaw; special friend: Robin Harris; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A grave service will follow beginning at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Palestine Cemetery. Reverend Bob Jarboe of Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery.
