Wallen, BessieBessie Wallen, 89, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, in Mason’s Health & Rehabilitation, Warsaw, Ind.

She was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Albert and Annie (Stephens) Hall. On July 17, 1940, she married Henry Wallen in Bull Creek, Ky., since 1961 from Prestonsburg, Ky.

She was a factory worker for Gatke Corporation and also worked Dalite Screen. She was a member of Rosehill United Baptist Church, Silver Lake, Ind.

She is survived by Henry Wallen, Winona Lake; a son: William (Sally) Wallen, Panama City, Fla.; two daughters: Hennrieta Myers, Silver Lake, Ind.; and Frances Wallen, Rockwall, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Geneva Stephens, Marion, Ohio; Josephine Field, Bremen, Ind.; Ruth Ousley, Warsaw; and Mary Jane England, Pierceton, Ind.

She was preceded in death by a son: Donald Wallen; two brothers: Bobby Hall and Elbert Hall; four sisters: Mabel Prater, Edith Collins, Evie Hall and Ethel Hall.

Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Rev. Harold Vance of Rosehill United Baptist Church, Silver Lake, Ind., will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Silver Lake.
