The future of the Northern State Conference is up in the air.

The one certainty is that the league will not include either Knox or Culver after the 2014-15 school year.

Both Knox and Culver informed the conference at the NSC Board Meeting Monday night that they will be leaving the league in two years.

The NSC currently includes Triton, Jimtown, Bremen, Glenn, New Prairie, LaVille, Knox and Culver.  Athletic directors and principals from those six schools are scheduled to meet Aug. 22 to discuss the future of the NSC.

The Lafayette Journal Courier reported last week that Knox and Culver, along with North Judson, will combine with Caston, Pioneer and Winamac to form a new conference in 2015. Caston, Pioneer and Winamac are currently members of the Midwest Conference.
