5x7 1st disk 216 DadGeorge Charles Brelsford, 87, former longtime resident of Warsaw, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2013, in the care of Community Hospital North Hospice in Indianapolis after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

George was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served at the end of World War II. He had worked for R.R. Donnelley and Sons of Warsaw for 43 years and retiring in 1990.

He had been an active member of Warsaw Kiwanis Club, and Redeemer Lutheran Church of Warsaw.  He loved his family, his church, golf, bowling, the White Sox and photography.

He was born May 2, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., to Ted J. Brelsford and Olga Louise (Sandberg) Brelsford. On June 8, 1947, he was married to Donna Lee (Slasor) Brelsford, who survives in Indianapolis, Ind. They were married for 66 loving years.

He also leaves behind his son: Steve (Colleen) Brelsford, Fort Wayne, Ind.; three daughters: Barbara (Edwin) Yarbrough, Ashburn, Va.; Lorna (Terry) Reine, Pickerington, Ohio; Sandy (Gary) deCastro, Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren: Kyla (Silas) Jenkins; Steven (Nicole) Yarbrough; Scott and Brendan Yarbrough; Jennifer Reine; Jacob, Isabelle and Carly deCastro; one great-grandson: Liam Jenkins; and two sisters: Carol Grabowski, Chicago, Ill.; Dora Jasmer, Palos Hills, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters and one brother.

There will be visitation from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1720 E. Center St., Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Stuart Floyd. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #49 of Warsaw and active members of the Honor Guard.
