Walter “Eric” Beard, 62, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:54 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born March 2, 1951, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Paul and Joan (Benefice) Beard.

On Nov. 6, 1981, he was united in marriage to Janice Kelly in South Whitley, Ind. He was a Warsaw resident since 1981 and an employee of Kralis Brothers Foods of Mentone, Ind., as maintenance technician. In addition, he was a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife: Janice Beard, Warsaw; sons: Paul Wahlig, Rochester, Ind.; and Michael Wahlig, Warsaw; a brother: Patrick Beard; a sister: Linda Minch and grandchildren: Kody, Logan and Jacob Wahlig survive him.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Monty; and a sister: Darlene.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 17, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at noon Tuesday in the funeral home with Bishop Jeffery Walters of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
