Delois Zimmerman, 73 of Mentone, Ind., passed away at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in his residence.

On April 25, 1940, he was born in Warsaw, Ind., to Thorton and Fay (Smith) Zimmerman. He was united in marriage to Esther Hyde in Warsaw, who survives.

A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Delois worked 40 years as a chemical muller mixer for Warsaw Foundry. He was a member of Harvest Community Church, Pierceton, where he was very active in the church. Delois enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife: Esther Zimmerman, Mentone; his son: James (Karen) Zimmerman, Mentone; his daughter: Kathy (Bud) Phillips, Mentone; three grandchildren: James (fiance’ Nykole McGuire) Zimmerman; Nichole (Kevin) Satterthwaite; and Tim (fiance’ Allison Orr) Perkins; his great-grandson: Nicholas Satterthwaite; his twin sister: Delores Hyde; and his step-brother: Keith Berkas, Fort Wayne.

Delois was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Evelyn Himes.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home with Pastor Glenn Hall and Pastor Lee Perry officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Ind.
