Dimple D. Fields, 90, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 7:09 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.
She had been a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., since 1969 where she was a homemaker and had formerly attended Warsaw Community Church. She enjoyed watching Charles Stanley and Billy Graham, and loved to sing gospel music with her family. Dimple enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers, reading, taking care of her family, and loved chocolate.
She was born on May 26, 1923, in Buffalo Valley, Tenn., to Oscar Lee Helms and Nadie (Carr) Helms. On Feb. 2, 1952, she was married to Robert King Fields, who preceded her in death on March 7, 2000.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Earl Fields, Warsaw; two daughters: Barbara K. (Jim) Akers, Warsaw; Carolyn S. (Stan) Lozier, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Adam “A.J.” Lozier, Shelly (Jose) Rosario, Cathie Blair, Waylon (Denise) Akers; and 12 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Lily, Maddox, Warrick, Rocco, Tiayana, Devin, D’Andre, Logan, Devon, Braxton and Dakota; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter: Cheril Blair; four brothers: Dugan, Luke, Otis “Bud” and R.J. Helms; and three sisters: Thelma Russell, Alma Fields and Ruby Helms.
Her visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. There will also be viewing an hour prior to her funeral service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at the funeral home. Her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
