Eldon J. Sorensen, 83, of Milford, Ind., passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

He was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Milford to Emil and Edna (Wheeler) Sorensen. He married Nola Morehouse who preceded him in death on April 20, 2004.

Eldon was a lifetime area resident who worked many years for Phend & Brown and delivered the South Bend Tribune to local readers for over 25 years. He worked hard and enjoyed watching NCAA basketball and was a member of the Milford Christian Church.

He is survived by four children: Devon (Mary) Sorensen, Three Rivers, Mich.; Mark (Lorinda) Sorensen, Lafayette, Ind.; Craig (Patty) Sorensen, Huston, Texas; Jeffrey “Squeak” Sorensen, Milford; and seven grandchildren: Brandi, Nathan, Adam, Tyler, Amy, Stacy, Haley; and one great-granddaughter: Megan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Nola; and three brothers: Elmer, Dale and Ray.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Milford Christian Church. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Pastor Stephen Leininger officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
