Callighan, David obit photoPastor David E. Callighan, 73, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 3 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., since 1987. David graduated from Western Michigan University in 1965, then received his Masters of Divinity from Grace College and Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Ind., in 1972.
He taught public school in Michigan, and in Florida he taught at a Christian school. He was the pastor of the Country Church in Bourbon, Ind. David taught at Lakeland Christian Academy in Warsaw while pastoring at Palestine Bible Church. He retired in 2012.

He was born on Oct. 28, 1940, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Eugene Bertram Callighan and Evelyn Daisy (Morren) Callighan. On July 1, 1961, he was married to Ruth Ann Holland, who survives in Warsaw.

He also leaves behind his son: Mark (Julia) Callighan, Avon, Ind.; and four grandchildren: Devin, Bethany, Lauren and Nic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter: Jane Shively.

There will be visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Doug Fritzel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Bourbon.
