Thomas M. Corbat, 68, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1945, in Fort Wayne to Merl and Sophie (Janzikiski) Corbat. On June 4, 1998, he married Lorree Snyder, who survives.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a past commander of American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse. He retired in 2011 as an engineer from Midwest Pipe and Steel in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his wife: Lorree Corbat, Syracuse; four daughters: Becky Pfeiffer, Fort Wayne; Lisa Nichols, Florida; Nichole Schaekel, Columbia City, Ind.; and Melissa Fraze, Anchorage, Ala.; two step sons: Jason Mench, Marion, Ind.; and Jeremiah Mench, Syracuse, Ind.; a brother: Jim Corbat, Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the St. Patrick Cemetery in Arcola, Ind., with military honors.
