Mary Albert, 75, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, in Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born April 1, 1938, in Pontiac, Mich., to Arthur and Ida (Stafford) Hicks.
Mary graduated from Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute in Jackson, Ky. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Marion College (now known as Indiana Wesleyan University) and her Master’s degree from Ball State University.
She married Charles W. Albert on July 3, 1993, in Wabash, Ind. She was a resident of Warsaw for 20 years moving from Wabash.
Mary was a kindergarten teacher for the Wabash City Schools for 27 years retiring in 1996. She was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw; member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) and a member of Indiana Retired Teacher Association.
She is survived by her husband: Charles W. Albert, Warsaw; three daughters: Susan (Paul) Segsworth, Coeur D’alene, Idaho; Diane (Andrew) Beverly, Warsaw; and Julie (Dean) Eakright, Wabash; a step son: Neal (Nadine) Albert, Middlebury, Ind.; two step daughters: Pamela (Mike) Hoover, North Manchester, Ind.; and Julie (Steve) Hartig, Clarkston, Mich.; three sisters: Thelma Story, Magnolia, Texas; Dorothy (Leo) Holmes, Pontiac, Mich.; and Ruth (Bob) Watson, Howell, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Joe Hicks; and a sister: Becky Marotz.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Smith, North Winona Church of the Brethren. Burial is to follow in Manchester Church of the Brethren Memorial Garden, North Manchester, Ind.
