Mildred Cronkhite, 86, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, Ind.

She was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Warsaw to Ernest E. and Ethel (Watkins) Unruh and lived her entire life in Warsaw.

She married Leo Cronkhite in Versailles, Ind., and was a telephone operator with Embarq (aka United and Sprint) for 40 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw.

Mildred is survived by her husband: Leo Cronkhite, Warsaw; a son: James L. (Barbara Jo) Cronkhite, Athens, Ala.; a brother: Frank (Violet) Unruh, Warsaw; and a sister: Evelyn Long, Etna Green, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Ethel Unruh.

No visitation is planned and private family services will be held with Rev. Michael Smith of North Winona Church of the Brethren. Burial is to be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, Ind.
