Kagin, June Obit photoJune Elaine Kagin, 89, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center of Warsaw.

She graduated from Wauwatosa (Wisconsin) High School, then she attended Downer College in Milwaukee, Wisc., and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. In 1970 she received her Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and became a teacher at the high school level. June had been a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past nine years.

She was born May 7, 1924, in Milwaukee to Fred King Elsner and Ordelia (Bills) Elsner. On Aug. 14, 1950, she was married to George Robertson Kagin, who preceded her in death on July 31, 1989.

She is survived by her two sons: James Robertson (Dawn) Kagin, Warsaw, Ind.; Fredrick Henry (Donna) Kagin, Menomonee Falls, Wisc.; two daughters: Margaret (Paul) LaPointe, Woodinville, Wash.; Roberta (Keith) Kline, Frederick, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Visitation is planned for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. Her funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Josiah Kagin. Burial will take place at Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisc.
