David Edgar Salisbury, 62, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at his home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1951, in New Albany, Ind., to Eugene and Elizabeth (Hank) Salisbury. He grew up in Elizabeth, Ind., graduated in 1970 from South Central High School in Elizabeth and was a United States Army Veteran. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in health sciences from Ashwood University.

He lived many years in Seymour, Ind., until he moved to Indianapolis 7 years ago. He formerly worked as a lab technician in Seymour for 20+ years, worked and volunteered for the American Red Cross, and was the former co-owner of Walnut Street Gifts in Seymour.

He was raised in the Elizabeth United Methodist Church, volunteered at Horizon House and Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis, and was a recipient of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels award.

He is survived by two brothers: William “Bill” (Roynettie) Salisbury, Indianapolis; and Charles (Pat) Salisbury, New Albany; two sisters: Roxanne Salisbury and Melanie Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are pending at this time at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, Ind.
