WARSAW – The City-County Athletic Complex will be the place to be for youth baseball fans over the next five days.

The CCAC will play host to the 2013 BPA World Series starting Wednesday and running through Sunday.

The tournament will feature three age divisions in 10U, 11U and 13U. Pool play games in each division will qualify teams for a single-elimination tournament.

The World Series is slated to begin tonight with Opening Ceremonies at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Orthopaedic Capital Center at Grace College.

Featured speakers for tonight’s Opening Ceremonies include former Triton High School standout and Cubs minor league player Todd Blackford.

The tournament will include a trio of Michiana Scrappers teams. The 13U team includes Zach Morris of Warsaw, while the 11U roster includes Noah Burgh, also from Warsaw.

Pool play games are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday and run through 8 p.m. Games are slated for 8-6 Thursday, 8-5 Friday, 8-8 Saturday and 8 until the tournament is completed on Sunday.

There will also be a Team Skills Competition and a Home Run Derby from 6-9 p.m. Thursday evening at the CCAC.

Admission is $25 for a week pass for those ages 13 and older and $10 for ages 8-12. Daily admission will be $6 for adults and $3 for youth.
