body shotZachaery Jay “Zach” Cox, 19, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013.

He was born March 20, 1994, in Nampa, Idaho, to Nicholas J. “Nick” and Michelle L. (Minnick) Cox.

He lived most of his life in the Kosciusko County area, having moved here from Idaho when he was 3 and graduated in 2013 from Whitko High School in South Whitley, Ind. He was employed at Biomet in Warsaw, Ind., and formerly worked at Applebee’s and Taco Bell in Warsaw.

He formerly attended the New Hope Wesleyan Church in Columbia City, Ind. He loved the big cities of Chicago and New York, all kinds of music, nature, his dogs and had an infectious smile.

He is survived by his parents: Nick & Michelle Cox, Pierceton; a sister: Alexandra Cox, Pierceton; a brother: Nicholas D. Cox, Pierceton (currently serving in Okinawa, Japan); his grandparents: Sandra Minnick, Warsaw; and Jay and Carol Cox, Nyssa, Ore.; his great-grandmother: Phyllis Bauer, North Webster, Ind.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 North, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home with Pastor Shane Wilson of the church officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
