Richard D. King, 83, of Kosciusko County, Ind., passed away at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Mentone, Ind., to George and Freda (Wagner) King. He lived in Kosciusko County most of his life.
On June 24, 1950, he married Joan Bowser in Mentone, Ind. He worked as a truck driver for several commercial trucking company’s for 54 years, retiring in 1992.
Richard was a member of the Warsaw Eagles and Warsaw Moose. He loved fishing, sprint cars and Nascar, especially Jeff Gordan.
He is survived by his wife: Joan King, Warsaw, Ind.; and daughters: Rita (John) Brown, Warsaw; and Deb (Larry) Steller, Pierceton, Ind.; a sons: Richard (Diane) King, Warsaw; and John King, Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Raymond King and Stuart King; sisters: Jean Pritchard and Donna Copeland; granddaughter: Kelly Jo Hatfield.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home with Scott Hoskins, Richard’s nephew, officiating. Burial is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
