Savannah LepleySavannah B. Lepley, 95, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Columbia City, Ind.

Born on Oct. 13, 1918, in Whitley County, Ind., she was the daughter of Lewis and Anna (Rhodes) Jones. She graduated from Pierceton High School with the Class of 1936. After graduation, she married Guy Lepley.

Savannah worked at the Sears store off Rudisill Blvd. in Fort Wayne, Ind., for over 25 years, retiring in 1994. She is a member of Westfield Presbyterian Church and Calvary Third Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne.

She is survived by her daughter: Beverly ‘Ann’ (Keith ‘Ed’) Henley, Columbia City; son: Joe (Nila) Lepley, Columbia City; sisters: Donna Hahn, Winona Lake, Ind.; and Shirley Kreger, Warsaw, Ind.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Helen Mielke, Hanna Waterson, Maxine Gebert, Nelle Gordon, Betty Wolfe and Naomi Phebus; and brother: Hayden Jones.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, with Reverend David Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne.
