1159956_profile_picKeith L. Hollar, 77, of Nappanee, Ind., died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at his residence after a courageous battle with three different cancers.

He was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Milford, Ind., to Everett and Mardas (Miller) Hollar. Keith lived his lifetime in this area.  He attended Hastings one room school.

On July 15, 1962, he married Norma Marie Strieby in Goshen, Ind. She preceded in death Nov. 16, 2007.

Mr. Hollar had entered the Air Force at a young age and served during the Korean War. He was retired after driving truck for 42 years. Keith was a member of the Nappanee American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his Harley, fishing and championship wrestling.

He is survived by his daughter: Kathy (Emzie) Watkins, Nappanee; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Miriam Cavender, Mishawaka, Ind.; Marla (Al) Headstrom, Edwardsburg, Mich.; and a brother: Max (Pam) Hollar, Lexington, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Karen McCorkle.

Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and also 1 hour prior to the funeral service, which will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the funeral home. Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate and burial will be in New Paris Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors by the Nappanee American Legion.

Memorial contributions may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or Southern Care Hospice.
