BZA Grants Approval For Storage Facilities
Approval was granted, but with conditions attached, for GSE Property Management to renovate or rebuild five buildings to be used for personal storage facilities in North Webster. Approval was granted by Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday in Warsaw.
Matt Sandy, assistant planning director for the county, noted GSE wants to renovate one building and then tear down and rebuild four others on East Street, south of North Street, in North Webster. Several years ago a lumber yard was located on the property and the buildings are remnants of it, Sandy said.
Conditions were attached to the approval because the buildings are encroaching property lines. All five buildings must be surveyed to determine just where they do cross the property lines. Any new buildings must only be used for storage facilities, GSE must work with the two property owners adjacent to the north side of the property and GSE must report to the North Webster Town Council the actions taken by the BZA.
Other agenda items included:
• Saralee Henry was granted a variance for a residence addition 10 feet from the right of way on Wesley Lane at the intersection with Cokesbury Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Joseph Hart was granted an exception to have an existing building replaced with a larger one without removing two units on property zoned residential on McKenna Road where it intersects EMS B33 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Craig Innes was granted an exception to add three storage units to the ones previously approved where a home has been built on land zoned agricultural on CR 300E, north of LaPoint Drive in Van Buren Township.
• Jennifer Anderson was granted a variance to permit construction of a residence addition 2.6 feet from a side property line on EMS T46 Lane, south of EMS T45A Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Derek Brown was granted a variance to allow decking to be raised to one level and to add railing along the west and north sides on EMS T48B Lane, south of EMS T48 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
