Lions’ Fish Fry, Auction July 5
The Syracuse Lions Club fed more than 650 people, using 415 pounds of fish, at last year’s annual fish fry and silent auction.
The “all you can eat” event will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Dr.
Tickets will be $9 for adults, $5 for kids ages 3 to 10 and free for anyone under 3. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from any Syracuse Lions member.
Also included with unlimited fish is a choice of apple sauce or coleslaw, as well as beans, bread and a beverage. The local Girl Scouts troop will be selling pie and brownies for $1.
After enjoying dinner, attendees can browse and place bids on the various items for auction. Items are donated by local businesses and include gift certificates and merchandise.
Names the Stan Fox Memorial Silent Auction, the event honors the late Lions Club member who organized silent auctions for many years.
Bidding opens at 5 p.m. and closes at various times throughout the evening. The final bids will close at 7:45 p.m. for an 8 p.m. announcement.
All proceeds from the fish fry and action benefit the Lions Club, which will in turn benefit the community. This event is the club’s largest.
The Syracuse Lions Club is involved with and donates to Teens Parents Succeeding, Wawasee Academic Superbowl, third grade dictionary donations, Syracuse Food Panty, Syracuse Cruise In, Lions Club vision programs, Cancer Control of Kosciusko County among other programs.
