Donald Larry Doan Sr., 75, of Bourbon, Ind., passed away at 3:52 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013,  in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Ind.

He was born April 17, 1938, at Clinton, Ind., to Donel Raymond and Agnes Howe Doan.
Don was a resident of Bourbon since 1973 moving here from Warsaw, Ind. He operated a small engine repair business and served over 25 years in the National Guard as an Administrative Supply Technician. He was also a member of the Warsaw American Legion Post #49.

Donald married Cheryl Gift on Sept. 20, 1969.

Donald is survived by his wife: Cheryl Doan, Bourbon; three children: Erin (Brad) Beatty, Etna Green, Ind.; Donel Doan, Etna Green; and Donald (Anita) Doan, Twelve Mile, Ind.; eight grandchildren: Erica, Brooklyn and Elizabeth Beatty, Melissa, Ty and Darian Doan, Trey and Ryonn Doan; a great-granddaughter: Kaycee; a sister: Annella Kay Zamora; and a brother: Alvin Hammersley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Naomi Faye Dean; and an infant brother: Gary Dennis.

In honoring his wishes there will be cremation.

A celebration of life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the National Guard Armory, 315 W. 350 N., Warsaw, Ind.
