Dane Edward Knote, 25, of rural South Whitley, Ind., passed Wednesday evening, Oct. 30, 2013.

He was born Feb. 6, 1988, in Columbia City, Ind., to Ernest J. and Linda L. (Graham) Knote. His formative years were spent in Cleveland Township, Whitley County, Ind. He attended Whitko High School.

He is survived by his daughter: Kloei Denise Day, Akron, Ind.; his parents: Ernest and Linda Knote, South Whitley; two brothers: Jack Britt, South Whitley; and Rodney Knote, Austin Texas; a sister: Terrie Ross, Columbia City, Ind.; and grandmothers: Lula Knote, Huntington, Ind.; and Velta Dickey, Bakersfield Calif.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers: Jack Knote; Bobby Graham; and Charles Alvin Dickey.

Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The burial will be in Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to the final expense account payable to Smith and Sons Funeral Homes.
