Shelly Heckert, a presenter from KC Recycling Depot, came to the Syracuse Library on Wednesday, June 19. She talked to teens about the role of pollution on the aquifer. Heckert instructed the young people in building a model aquifer made with chocolate chips, ice cream and soda. One of the participants said they had no idea that having clean drinking water was so complicated. She gave two bird houses as prizes for the winners of the environmental Bingo game. (Photo provided)
