Firemen Invited To Firefighters Challenge

firefighters challengeCome down to the Mermaid Festival Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m. and watch firefighters in action as they demonstrate their skills during the Tippecanoe Township North Webster Fire Department and Mermaid Festival 4th Annual Firefighters Challenge.

Watch as the participants, all in full firefighter gear, navigate a tunnel and obstacle course, scramble up ladders, carry a dummy to safety, and many other rescue-related skills that test speed and agility all while battling against the clock for the fastest time.

This is a family event so bring your kids! There will even by a mini course for kids in Kindergarten through grade 5. The kids can compete for medals and trophies with their $5 entry fee. Shoes are required for the event.

Cash prizes are being awarded to the top individual firefighters in the competition with first-place receiving $500. The top 10 finishers will all receive a cash prize.

After that competition, teams of two firefighters can then compete in a tag team course where a $350 cash prize, the traveling trophy and bragging rights are all up for grabs.
