A former Leesburg resident and Warsaw Community High School graduate was found dead in her Parke County home Friday and the Park County Sheriff’s Department has ruled the death a homicide.

Kathryn (Smoker) Bays, 55, reportedly died from blunt force trauma to the head. According to WTHI-TV in Rosedale, Ind., the suspect in the case, Earl Edwards, 52, was arrested in Alpharetta, Ga., on Friday afternoon.

WTHI-TV reports Edwards will be brought back to Parke County on Wednesday where he will face charges in Parke Circuit Court. Brian Smoker, the victim’s brother, said his sister had dated the accused.
